Booking & Peak Dates

How far in advance should we book?

In Russian holiday and school break seasons, at least 3–4 months to secure transport, hotels, and activities.

Peak periods (2025)?

New Year & Christmas (31 Dec–10 Jan), Defender of the Fatherland Day (22–24 Feb), Women’s Day (7–9 Mar), May holidays (1–4 & 9–11 May), Russia Day (12–15 Jun), Unity Day (1–4 Nov).

Signature Experiences

What is the “Baikal Kiss”?

Tasting berry infusions through a straw straight from holes in the lake ice, with snacks and photos (extra fee).

Can we combine glacier/ice-cave visits with a photographer?

Yes. We can invite a photographer on the ice day. From ≈ USD 200 per 8 hours.

Photo & Video

Is a photographer included with the group?

Guides take photos/videos for free; we prepare shared files after the tour. A professional photographer can be added: ≈ USD 200/day.

Why can photo quality vary between groups?

Conditions and equipment differ (e.g., drone/camera). We align team and gear to keep quality consistent.

Can we get photos of all meals served?

Yes — available on request for your program.

Meals & Farewell Dinner

Is the farewell dinner included?

On request. Any cuisine (local, Chinese, European) from ≈ USD 40 pp incl. beer & wine; extras like music/folk show can be added.

Can we have more Chinese meals?

Yes, mostly in Irkutsk. If within USD 25 pp — included; above budget — surcharge applies.

Is it possible to cook Thai or Chinese food on the ice?

Yes, with provided ingredients/recipe; special service is extra.

Transport & Activities

Can each guest rent a big-wheel rover for 20 minutes?

Yes. From ≈ USD 100 per car per hour, minimum 3 hours. For 3 hours, budget accordingly.

Where do military jeeps (UAZ) and rovers operate? What is the capacity?

Olkhon island area. UAZ typically seats 7 (6 in cabin + 1 front). Rovers are for fun/photos; capacities vary by model.

Is the cable car included? Which day?

Yes, on Day 2 in Listvyanka (Chersky Stone), weather permitting.

Is the sauna optional? What is the cost?

Yes, at the hotel. ≈ USD 120/hour for 8 pax; additional hour ≈ USD 100 for 8 pax.

How much is an upgrade to Courtyard Marriott or History Boutique?

About +USD 150 pp for 6 nights. Other reliable 4* are available at lower cost.

Does Krestovaya Pad have studio rooms?

No. Categories: Standard, Standard+, Junior Suite, Junior Suite+. Price steps ≈ USD 10 per room per night per category.

Restrictions & Practical Tips

Can we bring mobile toilet cabins for large groups?

No. The area is part of a protected Baikal nature reserve zone.

Can we include the Angara icebreaker and swap lunch/dinner timing on the farewell day?

Yes, by prior booking. We’ll adjust the schedule as needed.

How far in advance should we book?

In peak seasons, at least 3–4 months, especially for New Year (31 Dec–10 Jan) and Chinese New Year (15–28 Feb).

What is the standard duration?

Usually 7 nights: 2 in Moscow, 3 in Murmansk, 2 in St. Petersburg. A 6-night variant is possible on request.

Culinary Options

Can we include caviar tasting and a farewell dinner in St. Petersburg?

Yes. Menu and format are agreed in advance.

No. Aurora hunting is an evening activity (around 21:00–00:00).

It is approximately 68 km from Petrozavodsk to Kizhi Island, accessible by hydrofoil in about 1.5 hours during the navigation season.
